Connecting Colt Cylinder to Kaplan vaccum pump

I ordered a colt cylinder, because the Kaplan one I got with my pump was too small. On the web site, they said that the Colt cylinder would fit Kaplan vacuum pump. In fact, it does fit if I remove the tiny black little rubber circle that is around the tip of the hose. But, it seems to be the sealing part the hose and the top of the cylinder (the part that clicks).
Does anyone have an idea how I could seal the Colt cylinder in order to be able to use it with my Kaplan vacuum pump?????
Thanks,
John

Pringles,
I had this same issue. I removed the quick connect valve from the top of my Kaplan cylinder and screwed it in the Colt cylinder. The hole on the Colt seemed to be a tiny bit larger than on the Kaplan so I couldn't screw it in tightly. I resolved this by wrapping the threads of the quick connect valve with a pipe thread sealant tape and this worked perfectly. You can purchase the sealant tape at any hardware store. Don't be afraid to use a good amount of tape, you can always remove it and rewrap if you used too much. Strange thing is that I had another Colt tube that I didn't have to do this, so you may not have to. I hope this helps. Let us know if you found another solution.
